Ronald Stevelink

My name is Ronald Stevelink and I am born in the early seventies, in the height of the cold war, near Twenthe Airbase in the eastern part of the Netherlands, 10km from the German border.

I grew up with the understanding how important it is to have a strong defence force; In the Cold War period in the Netherlands the one and only “enemy” was just 400 km away… The area was full of airbases and a perfect place to become an aviation enthusiast. With Twenthe airbase in Netherlands and Rheine-Hopsten airbase in Germany, only 60 km away.

But the threat of attacks is not significantly lower compared with the Cold War period in Europe. Nowadays countries attack other countries and various “groups” try to destabilize any region. The importance of a strong defence force is more necessary than ever. This is not always understood in current societies. That is exactly the reason this website is created: To provide insights and more understanding of varying armed forces and enhance the public relations with the society by featuring articles regarding their activities.

This website focusses mainly on Air Forces. Several articles of mine have been published in numerous magazines. Further on this page are examples of articles, in PDF, published, mostly in Dutch language. I hope you enjoy the pictures and articles on this website. Hope to see you somewhere.
